Achmea, one of the largest insurers in the Netherlands, marked a milestone anniversary with a festival for thousands of employees. Relivo built the celebration around consent: 26,854 gallery views, 6,938 selfie searches, and an opt-out anyone could use.
For an insurer, every face is a consent question
Achmea is one of the largest insurers in the Netherlands, a cooperative built on trust. To mark a milestone anniversary, it brought thousands of employees together for a festival. Thousands of photos followed. For any employer, and especially an insurer, those photos carry a question most event tools ignore: who actually agreed to be seen?
Most event galleries make every face public by default. For a company with works councils, a data protection officer, and GDPR obligations to its own staff, that default is a liability. An employee who does not want their image shared internally should not have to discover it already has been.
Consent as the default, not the exception
Relivo built the celebration around consent. All 7,166 attendees got a private gallery they could search with a selfie. Just as important, employees controlled their own image. Anyone could opt out, and people who preferred not to appear could be removed from the photos.
Consent was the default, not the exception. 3,701 employees found and kept their moments, and 2,551 photos were downloaded, across 26,854 gallery views from 11,490 unique visitors and 6,938 selfie searches.
Trust turns a company gallery into a celebration
"I found my photos in seconds, and I knew exactly who could see them. That is what made me happy to share them." — an Achmea employee.
For an internal event, the photos are a morale asset, but only if people trust them. Consent is what turns a company gallery from a risk into a celebration.
"Celebrating our anniversary mattered, and so did respecting our people. Relivo let every colleague relive the day on their own terms, and gave those who preferred privacy a simple way to stay out of frame. For an insurer, that balance is everything."
